At the start of this year, I was coming out of 2024 in a state that I can only described as emotionally and spiritually exhausted. My goal for 2025 was to not have a specific goal.

How did I go from spending the early part of this year in a soft cloud of doing barely anything, to the current end-of-year rush?

But really, there is something quite noble about how sacrificial love can be. How it will chase you to infinity, just to make sure you are okay. To convince you that you are worth fighting for.

But I ended the story on the note that I did because I wanted to leave the reader right in the middle of that dilemma. In the middle of that choice that needs to be made.

Asking myself this question - what is important? -  has always happened when I'm at a crossroads in life

Four years since the rainy day in June when I decided to stop putting things off, and to put out my first piece and put my heart out there!

I have found it hard to think up new ideas that fit into what this blog used to be about.

Wherever you are: happy, alone. in-between relationships. love demands something of

I will be writing about what I am not going to be doing, in the new year that is.

With every month that went by, I made some small incremental change that got me closer to where I wanted to be.

There's no party like a Yoruba party. And I admire how people are able to come together to celebrate both small and big wins

And to think a summer of boredom could do that, could possibly change the trajectory of how my mind works, and how I deal with life,

My first few years in Ondo town, I used the forest that stretched out before my school as a metaphor for the dense aloneness that I felt

It is still such a head-spinning thing, that I have the skills and knowledge to actually save someone’s life. What a humbling privilege

My story ends with an almost happy ending. Almost. Because I am deeply fascinated by endings that are open-ended. That are not real endings.

But really, the big underlying hurt I noticed in this book is the loss of agency that Niger deltans have in what happens to their own land

I just don’t feel like I’m someone that could ever be okay with being average.

It is interesting to me the angle that this author writes the book in. Shigidi is a book about heists, about unlikely anti-heroes and...

To be honest, balancing everything has never been so easy. It was a very different thing when I was a student and now that I work.

A thing that makes me appreciate this book is a thing the author points out – that it is a book that goes where few other writers have
